The app "Waze" was acquired by Google in June of 2013.  Users submit crowdsurfed information about the condition of roads that helps Google Maps and it's smartphone/ tablet turn by turn navigation route trips in addition to data collected from the locators/ GPS antennas on those devices using it's app.  Waze is standing by now to be installed on the tablet that I use for music and navigation in my motorhome.
