I've been a hiker on 5 different distance trails. And what I can tell you is that in doing business with them, they are all different. Their trails, the land and the people surrounding them all make for unique circumstances. Their organizations in the beginning may have taken a few pages from AT in the past, but largely in part, they are all foreign to each other. Some of them have been operating and evolving on their own for decades.
