Oil Change, Exhaust, Transmission Fluid

The engine oil in my 1987 Chevrolet G20 Sportvan was changed today at 144,702 miles on the odometer.  I switched the engine oil from 5W-30 to 10W-30 today.

Also, I installed a cuff on the right bank exhaust tube in front of the rear axle and moved the resonator pipe so that it was further away from a nearby brake line. 

It appears that the transmission fluid is low?

Exhaust Update 2019060801

I got the new exhaust in my 2008 Chevy HHR LS pretty much mounted.  But I missed a ring that goes on the end of the header.  The header has 10 bolts and really don't want to have to dismount it if I don't have to.  But the ring doesn't mount into anything.  What it does is that it's used to compress the gasket.  The only thing holding it is the torque of the 3 bolts that mount the catalytic converter to the header in a triangle pattern.  So, I'm trying to figure out how I can hold the ring on while I reattach the catalytic converter pipe?

My friend at the auto parts store here in town is borrowing my 3-1/2 ton jack to work on my neighbor's car.

Exhaust Status, Establishments, My Personal Profile & Organizational Body Contingencies

I purchased a new Milwaukee sawzall today.  I already have some short Diablo blazes on hand.  The way I figure it, the existing exhaust that I have in my 2008 Chevy HHR LS is coming down and getting sawed in half no matter what.

I met somebody from a community organization recently.  And one criticism that I've always had about establishments, particularly uptight ones, can be inconsistent with the communities at large.  Pushing policy and establishment is can't good for public relations because how are they going to identify with you?  It's neither the time or the place for this.  The key to success is to somehow be one with the people.

One of the reason why I started Adventurer's Project is to reduce the liabilities from my profile.  Lately, I've been becoming a little undone on my profile.  I have a tendency to fight when cornered.  But that's exactly what the project needs in Far Southeast Ohio because it's always been cornered.  Perhaps a little less now?  But that's me speaking having been virtually by myself until recently.

With a group, theoretically, the idea is to eliminate need.  As a group and amongst each other, you do things that eliminates the avenues for this.  Sometimes a good presiding officer is one who knows how to prevent this and if necessary, put out a brushfire FAST.

Motorhome's Exhaust Sounding Good

The motorhome's exhaust sounds really good.  There's still a minor part of it that needs to be tweaked, but it looks like I'll be driving it for about 120 miles on Thursday.  My mechanic is very optimistic about that shakedown cruise.  He's offered to come with me, but I'm going to do it solo.  What I need is to drive up some hills at freeway speeds about 90 minutes into the drive.  My mechanic said that he really thinks that the bad catalytic converter was really holding up the engine's performance.  When I drove it today, I noticed that the front end went down.  I've never gotten it to peel out before, but getting it to bow was a first.  And I've never owned a rear wheel drive vehicle prior to this before.

Motor home Transmission Filter and Shakedown Cruise 02/17/2018

The transmission filter was replaced. Stand by for an odometer reading. I put the motorhome with my mechanic on the freeway today and it had a hard time going above 55MPH. He said that something on the passengers side was vibrating and we're looking into transmission related problems, but I'm braced for replacing the transmission. But the engine sounds good. When I switched from the motorhome to my car to move it, I smelled something. My mechanic said that one of the new brake shoes was rubbing and that he'll have to readjust it later.

There's a ticking noise when it drives. My mechanic said that it's in the exhaust header. And he didn't seem like it absolutely needed replaced, but he said if I want it done that the bolts will likely snap and that he'll have to use a tap and dye set to drill them out.

Meantime, I pulled a bunch of auto parts that I don't need and don't have receipts for. I'm going to put them up for sale or auction on eBay.  And I tried tuning the CB, but it has built-in diagnostics and it's antennas came back as failed.  Looks like I'll have to replace a couple pieces of hardware or add a ground wire directly to the body?

I'm getting closer to having the interior remodeled and reupholstered. My mechanic said that he's going to mount the wi-fi/ cell signal booster antenna to the outside chassis at the overhead compartment. When it comes to punching bolts through, the remodeling is the right time to do it.  It's the right time to replace the brake, reverse lights and side markers.

This morning, the alarm clock malfunctioned and I was unable to perform my hike today.  My movie player on my laptop still repeats 2 videos on my play list twice, causing the battery to drain. At the moment, I've got the extension on the exhaust on and I'm running the car to charge the battery.
