When I checked about 40 minutes ago, these logs were 38 pageviews away from 10,000.

I've got a big meat pressure canning day planned for tomorrow.  At some point, I'm going to probably pick up a vegetable canner.  I'm being held accountable by my nutritional.

The day after tomorrow, I'll get the full brake job done on my 2008 Chevy HHR LS.  The sooner I can do that, the sooner I can leave to hike the remaining Buckeye/ North Country/ American Discovery trail in South Central Ohio.  A buddy of mine sounds like he's going to complete the circuit before I do, but I might have an edge on completing all 3 in Ohio?

Yesterday, I finally got access to my gear bin.  And I used my own Full Generic Gear Inventory to create my next packing list.  The trouble with the winter is that I have find all of my thermal gear.  If it's not in the bin, I'll have to buy it before I launch.  The winter can be lethal.

I don't have all of my pictures sorted into their proper folders, yet. I wish that I would have of had one for you today.

I just checked the cans that were made on 09 January 2014. The chili is still holding up with no popped lids. I ate one a couple days ago and there wasn't any loss in quality that I can tell. On that batch, I used Mexican peppers and should have cut off the stems.
Today, I'm canning pork. This is my second attempt, but the first with the pressure cooker. The water bathed ones didn't last. Between that and chicken, I believe that I lost 11 cans to contamination?

I was supposed to get some brining supplies and meat today for canning tomorrow. But, I'll have to reschedule that for Sunday.
I'm performing maintenance on my laptop, so I don't think I'll be doing any mapping today.  Yesterday, I procured maps for the Ohio to Erie Trail for the Ohio Transit Hiker's Resource, but I'm not sure when I'll ever get to cover that in person?
A new AAA app was installed on my smartphone. I've been a AAA member for about the last 4 years now. Recently, they sent me a member services guide on paper.  I attempted to look for on offline PDF copy, but I couldn't find one... So, I settled for the app even though it won't work in remote areas.

4lbs of ground beef yeilded 13 meals in Mason jars.  I placed two bags of egg noodles in freezer bags and they'll remain there until I go to make a soup.  I still have 3 green peppers and 4 onions left.  I won't go into Wellington until tomorrow and after I get done with my trail maintenance.
I've been canning today.  It always makes a mess. The wheel barrel has been converted into a dish washing tub.  Since I've had to refil the 26L Aquatainer multiple times and carry it back, my abdominal muscles are feeling sore.  It will have to be refilled once again before the night is out.
A member of the park staff came by my campsite today.  When I took over my segment 2 1/2 years ago, I introduced myself to them and she recognized me after all this time.  Seems that the Buckeye Trail has a irrigation problem and the park would like the BTA to produce the labor to fix it.  They're willing to contribute the supplies.  I then referred her to the segment's maintainer.
